...to expand maps in first generation games without them getting all scrambled and add or edit events? How about adding new pokemon and types like in pokemon brown? Mateo of Skeetendo is hacking pokemon silver to remake pokemon red with "secrets and rumours" (which would be like having a pokemon red in color). However, as much as I like the idea of pokemon red in color, I wish "rumours and secrets" were a hack of pokemon red or even yellow itself. In Mateo's own words he doesn't "know how to hack ASM at all". I suppose this answers my own question, but what is this "ASM" stuff anyway? I've always wish there was a little of "Johto" on the west of kanto in Pokemon Yellow (because it was my first game), like atleast the Silver Cave and some of the first new Johto pokemon that have ever been released. I remember when pokemon gold first came out in Japan, I wished I could walk into the grass west of Pallet Town to see if I find anything there. Maybe there could be like a strip of grass going up the west side of route 1 and then on the left there could be a cave opening or underground path to get to the route that takes you to silver cave... that would be good enough for me.
You know, I would really like that idea of yours, although I'm unsure exactly how to do it. I might be able to pull it off if I get better tools that what I have now, though.
